@Daedalus_medio I really want to know what the runtimes for the episodes will be, it could easily be a Mr. Perkins kind of situation to pad out timeslots for TV, but way more connected to the actual episodes themselves.
@Daedalus_medio Personally seeing this as either:
- Shining Time Station where the Thomas stories are told by another character that "personally" knows them
- Sodor being a magical safe place for kids & the toys/model looking direction those promos had were very intentional
@TheLilWestern Waiting for mine to come in so I can tear down the chassis and see how different it is compared to TMR's. I seriously doubt it's just the button that's destroyed the QC.
We really gotta stop glazing the fuck out of this game when literally ANYONE who played it at the time will tell you that it never fucking worked properly. π
You literally couldn't move an inch without the wheels and siderods spazzing out, it was genuinely unplayable.
Got the Giant Whistling Thomas from Amazon US today. Even if you hate the 2026 designs, or the merch line in general, you have to admit this is a great toy. Great proportions, good detail, and cute gimmick. The face looks so much better in person compared to the promos, too.
"Engine Sounds" for the "StoryTalkers" imagine if the engines are mimes and can only speak with huffing and puffing, and Sodor's Residents are the only people who can actually speak in the reboot. Something something "real engines will let you know how they feel" - Awdry
@cinnabowlii It honestly isn't even defective, Mattel intentionally designed them to run this way. If they were redesigned from the ground up to accommodate the AAA battery, then it'd be a slight bit more acceptable, but these are so damn cheap, especially considering what came out last year.
@LOTTracks Still using the TM2 motor, gear tires, with only 1 AAA battery instead of two was quite the decision. Makes me wonder how they even test these toys? The playsets being poorly designed is 1 thing, but these suffer on basic layouts that ANY other generation would have 0 issue with.
Good lord all of the larger engines look fantastic. I hope they have lots of weight on em, easily the most appealing die-cast versions of their respective character, minus the large Tomica Gordon, lol.
Ok crash twitter here we come. The closest pictures we got for all the diecast engines displayed on the wall. This was above an apparel display so it was a bit hard to reach over.

Nia looks gorgeous btw. I never watched anything BWBA or AEG, so I have no idea what she's like, but good lord that's a damn good model. Buying her the moment she releases.
