Give me a FO that prioritizes swing and miss. Not this "we're gonna all throw 92 mph four seamers because 2-seamers find barrels - just need to hit our spots and pitch to the defense" BS we've been R&D'ing ever since Carter got here.

They had to save Ben Brown by going back and having him learn a sinker before he reaggravated his neck injury. The first thing Toronto did after we DFA'd Taillon was have him ditch the 4-seamer and he gave them a respectable 10 innings.

They folded and went after Cabrera (who sucks, but also a 2-seamer/sinker guy), a sinker baller in Holmes and splitfinger specialist in Gausman. The antithesis of what they spent 5 years trying to establish here. That's on Jed and Carter.

They failed. And you can't just blame losing Horton and Steele for the failings of the pitching lab as a whole.
