I am told that as a state representative this is the moment where I'm supposed to express my heartfelt condolences and then stand in solidarity with those on the other side of the aisle as we condemn political violence and stand unified as one people.
But we aren't "one people" are we?
The truth is we haven't been for some time now, and there is really no point in pretending anymore, if there ever was.
We are two very different peoples. We may occupy the same piece of geography, but that is where the similarities seem to abruptly end.
I convinced myself for a long time that whenever the left called me a racist, a bigot, a sexist, a fascist, a "threat to democracy" for even the most innocent of disagreements, that it was simply hyperbolic rhetoric done for effect.
And now the "effect" is a widow and two orphaned children, because the left couldn’t bear the thought of a peaceful man debating them and winning.
I don’t think they realize it yet, but murdering Charlie is going to be remembered as the day where we finally woke up to what this fight really is.
It’s not a civil dispute among fellow countrymen. It’s a war between diametrically opposed worldviews which cannot peacefully coexist with one another. One side will win, and one side will lose.
Charlie tried to win that fight through argumentation, through discussion, through peaceful resolution of differences.
And the other side murdered him.
Not because he was “extreme” or “inciting violence” or any other hyperbolic slur they hurled at him. They murdered him because he was effective. Because he was unafraid. Because he inspired others and made them feel like they had a voice, that they were not alone. And he did it at the very institutions which have fomented so much hatred toward conservatives.
I don’t want to “stand in solidarity” with the other side of the aisle. I want to defeat you. I want to defeat the godless ideology that kills babies in the womb, sterilizes confused children, turns our cities into cesspools of degeneracy and lawlessness…and that murdered Charlie Kirk.
Social media is aflame right now with leftist celebration of Charlie’s death.
I wonder if any among them understand what has just happened. If there is a Yamamoto somewhere in their midst warning, that all they have done is awoken a sleeping giant.
I doubt it. I think they gave up such introspection and self-awareness long ago.
I don’t know exactly what will happen next. I just know that it won’t be the same as what has happened in the past.
There will be thoughts and prayers…Charlie would have wanted prayers. Not for himself but for those left behind and for the country that he loved.
But then there will be a reckoning.
My Christian faith requires me to love my enemies and pray for those who curse me. It does not require me to stand idly by in the midst of savagery and barbarism...quite the opposite.
So every time I feel tired, every time I feel discouraged or overwhelmed, I am going to watch the video of a good man being murdered in Utah…I will force myself to watch it…and then I will return to the work of destroying the evil ideology responsible for that and so much more.
Rest with God Charlie, your fight is over.
Ours is just beginning.
I remember when @SpanbergerForVA was bragging about her participation in securing the Iran deal…which freed up the funds for them to sponsor terror and build nukes.
Vote @winwithwinsome
This is not our war.
But if it were, Congress must decide such matters according to our Constitution.
I’m introducing a bipartisan War Powers Resolution tomorrow to prohibit our involvement.
I invite all members of Congress to cosponsor this resolution.
Milei reduced government spending 30% and achieved a surplus in only 1 month.
His popularity didn't fall, it rose.
Don't tell me fiscal discipline isn't popular with general public.
It's just unpopular to the powerful special interests that control DC.
As I have been arguing for some time, if there is no God above the state, then the state is god. I have used that argument to wake up dozing Christians. But it also explains the leftist freak-out over Trump. If the state is your god, what recourse do you have when DJT takes it over? Well, you act like a priest who just found a dead cat on the high altar.
Roman Catholic Apologist:
“Trust me, WE are the true Church.”
Orthodox Apologist:
“No way, buddy. Trust me, WE are the true Church.”
Lutheran:
“Crazy idea, but how about we trust the promises of God in His Word and Sacraments? Then we’ll belong to the true Church.”
Here we go again.
Remember back in 2020, when Congressman Thomas Massie heroically stood up against the $2 Trillion Covid spending.
Back then, President Trump called Massie a "third-rate grandstander" and a "disaster for America."
Massie was correct. He was primaried for standing firm and was victorious in the election.
The Covid spending helped to usher in the inflation that we're still dealing with today...not to mention all of the fraud.
Once again, Congressman Massie refuses to support reckless Republican spending and debt; and once again President Trump seeks to primary Massie after comparing him to Liz Cheney (!)
If Congress was composed of hundreds of Thomas Massie's we wouldn't be trying to claw our way out of the abyss right now.
Watch @RonPaul & @ChrisRossini below:
I'll say it again, for clarification...
It’s not about “wanting Putin to win.”
I DON’T want Putin to win. But I don’t see a lot of the people advocating expansion of this war, offering to send their own kids…
So here are some things to consider:
1. Trump is correct that Ukraine can't win a war of attrition against Russia. The numbers aren't there. You can send all the equipment you want, sooner or later Ukraine will require troops. Who is going to send them? Because it will not be us nor should it be.
2. Germany, the UK, and France all have GDPs larger than Russia. So they shouldn't need US support. Europe should be able to handle this on its own. If they can't, that says a lot more about how they have managed European priorities. You don’t get to simultaneously complain about US hegemony and then demand that we use our blood and treasure to solve a problem you could have easily dealt with by adjusting your priorities.
3. This war could have been stopped before it started. NATO did not need to expand to Russia's borders. NATO was originally established to combat communist aggression. Which means at this point its primary threat is Western universities.
4. Ukrainian gains have encouraged Zelensky to go for more than he can reasonably achieve. Russia outran its supply lines while at the same time leaving major pockets of resistance along its lines of communication. That combined with a massive influx of money and weaponry from the West is the reason it was able to push the Russians back. But without air superiority Ukraine is playing a game it can't ultimately win.
5. Trump is not just dealing with Ukraine here. He recognizes that the foreign policy nightmare that was the Biden administration has pushed our two greatest adversaries, Russia and China closer together. Russia is the lesser partner in that alliance and they don’t want to be dependent upon China. That presents an opportunity to both save Ukraine and create distance between Russia, China, and even Iran.
Welcome to a new foreign policy that takes reality into account.
Where the US is a respected ally not a sugar daddy.
If you don’t like that arrangement, I hear Ukraine is taking volunteers just in time for Spring operations
What could be more fun than a combat vet getting lectured on war by DC socialites whose nearest experience is playing fortnight?
If you little bitches want to volunteer to fight for the Donbas you be my guest. And when you get back…if you get back, I'll be happy to hear about your theories on war.
Until then, Piss off.
