Anand Niketan School in Ahmedabad was fined and its director was fired just because the library had books by Malala Yousafzai and Anne Frank. This happened after a student took Malala’s book home to read, which led to protests from right-wing groups and some parents.

Both The Diary of Anne Frank and I Am Malala are important books that teach kids about bravery, kindness, and standing up against hate. Banning these books from schools shows a fear of open thinking and truth.

Punishing schools for having books about basic human rights only hurts students and stops them from learning real-life lessons.

Amit Shah just called the 1937 Vande Mataram resolution “anti-national”.

That resolution was cleared by Gandhi, Nehru, Patel, Bose, Tagore and Azad. They kept only the first two stanzas so no Indian felt excluded from the freedom struggle. Later stanzas invoked goddesses. The decision was deliberate restraint for national unity.

Shah is now branding those freedom fighters’ collective judgment as anti-national. This is the real insult to Bankim, to the martyrs, and to every pluralist who fought for a secular Republic.

This is not patriotism. This is a Home Minister declaring the pluralist foundation of the freedom movement itself illegitimate.

The man who lectures the country on national song is the one rewriting its history for vote-bank polarisation. That is the real anti-national act.
