Spotlighting WKU MA alumnus @AndreaKitta for #wherearetheynowwednesday this week on the WKU FSA page. Congratulations on the Chicago Folklore Prize! https://t.co/apfJA4vEnL
@afsfolklorists Virtual meetings w/ chat option offer more opportunities for students/young professionals to be engaged with senior folklorists in a way that feels accessible and non-threatening.
I appreciate that Norma Cantu has convened a polyvocal panel of women writers and artists โ including both local and Native voices โ for her presidential invited address instead of a single speaker, as is usually done. #afsam20
I really like how #afsam20 has programmed this conference. This may be a hot take, but it feels like virtual conferences are more democratic and collaborative spaces in a lot of ways. Everyone takes up the same space, and the chat invites ongoing participation
Just being visible is important; @StreetFolkLCW makes sure to identify himself as a folklorist on every platform and post consistently and frequently on social media #afsam20
