@HighwaysSWEST@2SevernBridges I've asked before and I'll ask again - can the on bridge wind data be made publicly available? If the wind gusts are as high as suggested I see no reason why not. As your Twitter feed suggests trust in the accuracy of your info is low
@HighwaysSWEST@2SevernBridges The bridge was shut for nearly 2 hours before you sent this notification. The contempt shown for motorists is simply staggering
@Drewster15 At no point have I suggested they close the bridge willingly. I would, however, say that I think they have lowered the wind threshold due to the, delayed, roadworks and refuse to confirm as such; hence repeated requests for the data
@Drewster15@2SevernBridges I would argue the chances of an RTA are vastly increased by the sudden increases in traffic over one bridge. All that I and many others are seeking is some transparency on why the bridge is being shut despite no data suggesting the wind threshold is met
@2SevernBridges So is the data from the wind sensors publicly available? There would be much less frustration if people could see that the wind gusts are actually going above the threshold
@2SevernBridges That'll be the MET office data that shows max wind gusts of 37mph? Which is quite a bit below the 46mph Max stated on your website? https://t.co/Y3c2H1Xuz8. Has the threshold been lowered due to the roadworks perhaps?
@2SevernBridges From having just had to divert over the M4 bridge there were no indicators of high wind. And no wind forecasts are showing gusts anywhere near that level. Is the wind speed data you are using publicly available?
@2SevernBridges Having just been diverted across the M4 bridge the windsocks were not even horizontal. There is no way that the bridge is experiencing wind over 40mph. Can you please confirm what the actual wind threshold for closing the bridge is currently
@2SevernBridges Would you be able to let people also access these "dedicated forecasts"? As if people had more info about the wind gusts supposedly being experienced across the bridge I think there would be much less frustration
