Maybe you’ve never wondered what the evaporator of a high school chemistry water distiller that’s about a decade behind on scheduled maintenance looks like, but here’s a peek just in case: #spooky#Science
Update: Back in business after heavy de-scaling and drilling/re-tapping of the threads for the bolts that hold the condenser in place. Don’t bother looking at the previous tweet to see how long the process took 😂😂😂
Though I no longer teach at @LewisCentralCSD I do remember having a certain outstanding student-athlete in class a few years back. Proud @TCUFootball fan tonight. Go Max and #GoFrogs
@SnySci97 @sciencecook @IBchemmilam Never met Scott (followed him here for a while though), but his book a) kindly confronts my current thoughts/practices, b) with evidence, c) shares practical adjustment options, and d) shares the author’s own struggles. An extremely high-value contribution to the discipline!!!
Only about 50 pages into @IBchemmilam book “Teaching Introductory Chemistry” and there’s already no way I’m going to teach chemistry the same as I always have. If you work with me, you’re going to hear about this book, and probably not just this year. Excellent stuff!
Congratulations to the PLHS Class of 2022, and I will always remember the 9 weeks we didn’t get together at the end of your sophomore year in Chemistry and the 3 of you that attended every optional Zoom session! 🎉🎉🎉 #PLHS22#PLCSBeKnown
Just curious:
Teachers, please RT this if you teach your students about things and topics that are NOT in the curriculum or the textbook you use because you know it’s very important that they learn it.
Of course, that measured temperature IS about 20 degrees (F) higher than the air pouring in at roof level 😋
If you’re wondering why a science teacher is posting temperature readings in Fahrenheit, I will take the blame for my thermometer settings and apologize 😂
There’s a seat right below this exhaust fan where a lucky student can learn an incredibly experiential lesson on fluid density and thermodynamics today 🥶
Are. You. SERIOUS???

Celebrate the little things, like when every single student in a remote chemistry class is actually “in class” and nobody is absent! (even if it took 45 school days to accomplish). 🎉🎉🎉 #remotelearning
@Doorlag1 I will generally follow the current POTUS from this account. Not tipping my political hand here (I follow a lot of people who have widely differing opinions of Mr. Trump).
