Rural women and girls are the first victims of the climate crisis.
Droughts and floods not only destroy harvests, they also increase girls' workloads and put them at greater risk of violence and early marriage.

The first forms of life appeared in the ocean. It produces at least 50% of the planet's oxygen, absorbing around 30% of the CO2 produced by human actions, and thus mitigating the impact of climate change. 1/2

Climate change can cause water shortages, reduce harvests and increase famine, making families even more food insecure and affecting the health and development of girls.
This Saturday we are going to learn more with Ms. Claudia Sumaili

The high percentage of young people in Africa is also a force for wetland restoration and protection. But this can only be achieved if young people are aware and informed.

The sixteenth session of the Conference of the Parties (COP16) of the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) is happening now in Riyadhโa critical moment for our planet.
๐ 40% of the worldโs land is degraded, affecting over 3.2 billion people and posing severe threats to water security, biodiversity, and climate resilience. This stark reality reminds us that the water crisis is deeply intertwined with climate change, biodiversity loss, and desertification.
At #UNCCDCOP16, leaders and advocates from across the globe must come together to push for bold, transformative solutions to restore ecosystems, regenerate degraded land, and secure a sustainable future.
Healthy land is the foundation of life. It sustains water ๐ง, nourishes biodiversity ๐, and shields communities from the worst impacts of climate change. Restoring our lands means restoring hopeโfor people, for nature, and for our shared future.
Letโs regenerate our planet and secure a better future for generations to come.

COP29, a failure?
As we noted, the COP29 hosted in Azerbaijan invited 1773 fossil fuel lobbyists to this event.
Called the Climate Finance COP, no dollars have been put on the table to finance the climate, only one promise that adds to hundreds of others unfulfilled.
#COP29
Promises? No, thank you. We want action.
Climate action today means stopping funding for fossil fuels and speeding up the promotion of renewable energies. And this transition must be just, taking into account the countries of the South and local communities.

There are three messages in this image:
1. Act in time;
2. Clean, efficient energy is a human right;
3. ๐ดPlanting a tree is planting life, the hope of a better world.
Join us in climate action for a better world.

For 2 days we learned several topics in the sub-regional symposium for #Peace including:
๐ธImplementation of the youth, peace and security agenda in the DRC, Burundi and Rwanda
๐ธParticipation of young people in decision-making bodies And many others sujets
Youth have the power๐ช
The current crises in our world are not beyond the capacity of mankind to act.
We have demonstrated our power by walking on the moon and on Mars. We have invented the most powerful bombs ever made, we have succeeded in transplanting organs (even hearts) from animals to humans ๐งต
One day Africans will truly be free. Free to manage their resources, free to choose their leaders, free to move around their continent... One day Africa will write its own history and it will be, north and south of the Sahara, a history of glory and dignity.
Yesterday #ClimateClock ticked down below 5 years for the first time, giving us 4 years to keep 1.5โฐ alive.
In the DRC we organized a march with the aim of raising awareness among local authorities, local people to take action in the fight against plastic pollution in our region
