tick, tick... BOOM! The second episode of Friends of Dorothea is here just in time for TTPD🤍
We're back with an analysis of all we know about the album before the release! Join Tess as they trace the evidence as we enter The Tortured Poets Department…

swifties are the only people who will get mad at an academic for highlighting a queer reading of a song in which the woman says another woman is making her wet
@harkgriddle The fact that even a Gaylor Hater knows that a symbol linked with Gaylors is a “daisy”… and we’ve just had ANOTHER daisy mention on a song. Lollllll
ooh yes yes & also one of my fave coding deep cuts- “have u heard the rumours about Marie Antoinette?” as a lesbian code.
“What so now I’m GAY because I heard rumours that she told people to eat cake?” 🎂🍰
actual photo of me and oomfs trying to have a conversation about showgirl without mentioning the glaringly obvious gaylor and performanceartlor implications
On my way to watch The Release Party in a Sydney cinema w my Dad! Glad to have heard some interesting & enjoyable reviews from the Gaylors in the Zoom today & hey, I want to see this thing thru. Expectations aren’t high but I’m excited for the MV & seeing the duality of Taylors.
Any Friends of Dorothea who want to be together when whatever the f*ck this is drops (merch? Or maybe.. a new album to replace the original lol one can dream), we’ll be in a Zoom together in 40 mins: https://t.co/U8lK2P8Bdq
do yall know how much actual talent, wit, patience, and to be fucking honest just straight up bravery it takes, to create a mockery of your own brand so horrendous that it causes your own cult fanbase to instantly turn on you?
@macdenlor @cosphotographs It could mean she left, but it cld also be- “I couldn’t watch you consume my art in that way so I did things differently”
Again, I’m just here to enjoy analysis angles that interest me. None of us know why she wrote certain lyrics. That’s the beauty of art to me!
@sourdoughlor I’ve been seeing this all over gaylor spaces recently but I can’t for the life of me find a primary source online that dates the first Ladder issue to Oct 3rd. The only thing that comes up is this tumblr article, am I missing something?
