Here is the real story on "invasive" crabs. Next issue of Fishing News will explain the similar accuracy of the "don't buy crab and lobster story" in today's Guardian. @YourFishingNews@guardian@mcsuk
Our thoughts are with the friends & family of John “Twinkle” Trenerry. A well-known character in the Cornish #fishing community since the 70’s, he will be missed. A celebration of his life will be held this week at The Bath Inn, Penzance from 3:30pm on 24 March.
FISH INTEL PROJECT SEEKS LOCAL INFORMATION ON BASS AND POLLACK. University of Plymouth’s FISH INTEL team is looking to engage with local fishers with knowledge of bass and pollack. Can you help the FISH INTEL team by contributing to an interview?https://t.co/oUYs3WV1kH
We were very sad to hear of the passing of local fisherman David Sales. In 2020 David received a richly-deserved BEM for his services to commercial fishing and the environment. He was very much involved in the establishment of the Lyme Bay Fisheries and Conservation Reserve.
We echo @Dorset_CF words. Dave will be greatly missed. He was an integral part of the #FLAG Board and was key to its success. Our thoughts are with all of the Sales family at this sad time. RIP Dave.
Such sad news. Dave will be sadly missed by all- and very much by me. A mentor during my PhD he taught me how to string up pots, how to fish, was never short of advice & his door was always open for sandwiches after early starts fishing/collecting data. Thoughts with Gill & fam🦞

Keep sharing so all #fishers in #Cornwall know how to access support when needed. We now have 3 therapists available who deliver counselling or Cognitive behavioural Therapy.
#PacificOysters are good for the UK’s environment, economies and health, the proposed ban on their farming threatens to harm all of these.❗️Action is required to secure their status and ensure future generations can enjoy all of the benefits they provide. https://t.co/V62Dk7hCjb
Outdated conservation demands are threatening the very existence of the UK’s oyster farming industry. #PacificOysters have lived in the UK since the 60s, provide the backbone of our aquaculture sector and deliver a range of environmental benefits https://t.co/c3yFjyZ2Go
Really enjoyable @Dorset_CF #SwanAGM21 event - lots of positive developments within the #aquaculture sector and great examples of collaboration. Exciting time for 🐟🎣
