What an amazing and moving podcast. A real eye opener.
Thanks @antbaxter and team for persevering to get this series and story out.
My heart goes out to those families who were treated with such disregard by someone who is so full of his own self importance.
@doogwasps@RugbyInsideLine@WaspsRugby@WorcsWarriors@londonirish Reading that makes me sick. Just goes to show they only care about HQ and internationals, not Prem/Champs/grass roots.
Always hated shelling out a crazy amount of cash to watch games at HQ, but never again.
Just some of the London Irish merch I excitedly bought a couple of weeks ago, thinking I was getting ready for an even better 23/24 season…
Will still wear with pride. Just won’t be cheering the boys on.
@sheddybong1@SusieC128 @GF_TW8 @londonirish And I agree about the pitch. Compared to many solely football pitches across the leagues, it always looked in great Nick for both. The ground staff are top class. 👏🏼
@sheddybong1@SusieC128 @GF_TW8 @londonirish Again, thank you. 🙏🏼
Animosity seems to have been about the pitch, the colour of the seats, the fact that it’s a “community” stadium rather than solely Brentford’s….
All narrow minded views (which you get in all sports, I hasten to add!).
@BS3Alex@SusieC128 @GF_TW8 @londonirish True, but right now, I see many more rugby fans on here reaching out to the Irish family than revelling in their demise.
@sheddybong1@SusieC128 @GF_TW8 @londonirish I guess it’s subjective as whether that’s worse that the original “please leave” tweet or not. But while the Irish family is hurting, there’s a plethora of Bees fans expressing the same views as above, so an emotional response, whether fair or not, is unsurprising, no?
For the first time in all my years supporting @londonirish am I ok with the likes of @BathRugby et al enticing our players away. With the guys now reportedly being free agents, I hope they find new homes.
