@lorenschmidt The link I provided is just an example of the algorithm, unfortunately I can’t find images of the things I generated with the algorithm I coded
@lorenschmidt Loren do you know about this very simple algorithm: https://t.co/lY1Z3bvPOK
I programmed the same algorithm a few years ago and I was using it to create characters as well as tiles and glyphs
I love the simplicity of it, it can create very cool minimalist stuff
@thomasbrushdev Small long games, meaning small games in scope but games that can last long in terms of playtime, because the word of mouth will be amazingly better and for hundreds more reasons
during my spare time, I've been working on a little project to help crowdfund for my baby nephew, who is currently fighting for his life.
hoping folks will like the enough to donate a bit to help 🙏 link in thread.
Gus Van Sant directed a 1998 remake of Psycho that was just the exact same movie shot for shot but in color, and this was widely agreed to be artistically worthless and even offensive, whereas its equivalent in video games is standard practice
@doot_dodo I had the chance to see your mini talk at Game Conf and it was very inspiring!
I’m very interested in making tiny yet polished games myself, so thanks for the inspiration!
so I really didnt want to come back like this. but, i lost my job unexpectedly today, right in the middle of looking for a new place to live. on the guidance of a close friend i've set up an emergency GFM to try and stay housed while i figure things out https://t.co/dv7pQb6bLL
I am starting to find chess too simple: a mere 8 by 8 grid, no fog of war, limited dialogue options between the two kings, they can’t even fall in love, etc. yaoi addresses these limitations
@wombatstuff I’d love that! I myself want to get better at coming with simple ideas quickly, somehow I always tend to make my designs too complicated (and too long to prototype as well)
