@kbw1001 If being kind and respectful to all makes me a snowflake then I’m proud to be a snowflake. It’s interesting that all you have as a retort to me is to be insulting.
@kbw1001 @GoldingBF It’s not a ridiculous argument. It’s just a really obvious point. Why doesn’t it belong on our streets? The streets belong to all of us. Do you not think that kindness and understanding is the way to make this world a better place. Hatred just breeds more hatred and doesn’t help
@dsprimed No mention of my work, despite the final feedback meeting from our recent Ofsted with the CEO and Deputy CEO highlighting the strength of our curriculum. Not that it’s all about Ofsted, of course. That’s very kind of you — usually I let it wash over me, just a bit prickly today.
@Janroweljmu Last year by the same head I was called ‘an absolute pain to work with’ simply for standing up for my school. Do not think he would say the same to a man. It’s unbelievable that in 2025 this is still so utterly entrenched
In my ten years at our school, we’ve never had a better start to a term or felt the school in a better place. The years of hard work and change have paid off - the place is singing and I feel immensely proud.
But the level of hard work, resilience and commitment it’s taken to reach this point - and more importantly, to sustain it - in an era of massively increased SEN needs, insufficient provision and reduced funding, simply isn’t realistic.
We’ll always give everything for our children and families - it’s what we do. But schools can’t keep running on goodwill alone. We need more funding. The effort is huge, the responsibility is real and the cost to staff and leaders has never been higher.
I know I'm not alone in thinking this.
@dsprimed If you don’t like this part of the job then don’t do it - parents and children will feel it and it will do more harm than good. As long as they are welcomed by someone everyday and know they are listened to, valued and can get to you if they need to it’s not a problem
“For those working in education who have been exasperated by Gibb and his buddies for the past 15 years, it will be tragically vindicating to read how little of substance exists behind the man and his reforms.”

I've been chasing an invoice for some work I did in March, April, and May. I've received no acknowledgement of the numerous emails from the finance dept at this trust. I'm out of pocket by almost £3k when I factor in the money spent on travel and accommodation, which I don't
One day we will all be old.
I have been rather horrified to see the complete lack of sympathy people show to the elderly.
I put out a post about my elderly friend who struggled with parking apps.
People suggested everything from not driving at all to riding a tricycle in the dark and rain around the country lanes of Cornwall.
Have people become so callous that they think that the elderly should be locked in their homes?
