Did you know? #FieldStudyIPA features a portion of PA-grown grain. This year it came to us from Lancaster County & Halifax by way of @DoubleEagleMalt. "The quality and quantity of the grain in Pennsylvania really lends itself to brewing," says brewmaster @jtroegs. #Troegs#PAbeer

"Everyone from beer-drinking novices to Cicerones can articulate the basic composition of a beer: water, malt, hops, and yeast. Yet one of these four basic ingredients is lauded far more than the others: hops."

Another adventure at the historic 1830 #Thompson-Neely mill near New Hope along with history enthusiast Eva Mergen and hubby Lucas. We milled a little shy of a ton of #RusticAle malt, part of an order for an upcoming bourbon campaign for @penndistilling.
Great experience with daughter Eva handling 50-lb bags of malt for milling at the historic 1830 Thompson Neely Mill at Washington Crossing. First time this mill has processed malt in recent history. Another PA resource in the local value chain.
