I would be careful, as you are. You can go down a path with the dbx (because it is very good) that you could completely change the output. I would advise caution at the beginning for newer audio peeps. It can be a slippery slope! Luckily you can bypass the effects on this as well. So, if raw is needed, it's a button away.
