Holy shit. They’re just coming right out and saying it now. The GOP wants to “End Direct Democracy in Missouri”. The Republican Party has lost its mind.
CONFIRMED: to help protect Patterson from his unpopular tax hike, the Governor is putting Patterson’s EVERYTHING TAX on the August ballot in hopes voters will forget by November.
They couldn’t even finish out the year!! They left families and children scrambling to close out the year. Now these families will have to figure out what to do for next year and will they get all their children’s records from this school year.

I’ve made it clear that the Treasurer’s Office has operated the School Voucher Program with incompetence & an outright disdain for accountability.
That’s why I worked to remove this program from his office, and I’m glad my Republican colleagues agreed.
The Missouri Senate on Thursday voted to strip oversight of the state’s private school voucher program from State Treasurer Vivek Malek, moving it to the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. #moleg#mogov

Schools are underfunded by hundreds of millions of dollars.
The state’s top school official just resigned.
The voucher program is draining money & leaking data.
Meanwhile, scores are too low. Teacher turnover is too high. And the republicans who run everything have NO PLAN.
This school receives State Vouchers (paid for with your tax dollars).
But unlike public schools, there is no accountability as they close their doors and bring “… tears, confusion, and frustration” to kids and parents.
Sen. @DougBeck562’s amendment naming the St. Louis @BattlehawksUFL as Missouri’s official professional football team has passed with broad bipartisan support. #KaKaw
UPDATE: Senate Republicans have defeated an amendment that would have required them (and other politicians) to disclose any taxpayer funded school vouchers they receive each year.
UPDATE: with 20 Republicans voting AGAINST fully funding schools, the amendment failed. Missouri will continue to have the lowest paid teachers in America and a majority of students reading below grade level.
It was great to meet with our first responders on Firefighters Day in the Capitol!! I thank all our first responders for their service to our communities.
FANTASTIC! Sen. @Patty4MO’s amendment to ELIMINATE MISSOURI’S GROCERY TAX has just been adopted by the State Senate.
As Missouri families continue to struggle with higher prices due to tariffs and trade wars, Senate Democrats are focused on lowering costs for everyone.
