Tomorrow marks the 200th Anniversary of Caledon. The Treaty that marked the purchase of the Mississague Tract was the first step in the process that led to the settlement of Albion, Caledon and Chinguacousy Townships starting in 1819.

Today, in 1818, the British Crown purchased 648,000 acres of land called the Mississague Tract, which includes the Town of Caledon. (Eglinton Ave to Hwy 9) The purchase represents the 1st step that led to the settlement of Albion, Caledon and Chinguacousy Twps starting in 1819.
