@redheadranting That just shows you’re still his type. If he doesn’t come up in your searches, that shows you’ve evolved. (I’m just trying to say something encouraging. I don’t think you should be thrown off your game. But I know things get complicated.)
@QueenAnticommie My childhood was perfect. It’s my family that was a complete mess. I was the youngest child, so I ignored all the rules. My parents had completely given up by the time I came along.
@redheadranting@Bennieeexyz When I was four I tried to do the Superman thing with a baby blanket from a third story window but I couldn’t get the screen off the window.
@DNicholsAuthor@janeholland1 Even masters have to start somewhere. What are the ranks? Unmaster, amateur master, minimum wage master, assistant master, master, master and a half, and then big cheese? I think that’s how it goes.
@worillessg I’d say that problematic authors produce the most valuable work. That’s if you define problematic authors as authors the publishing industry doesn’t know what to do with. Book sales are like credit scores. They indicate whether or not you do what big business wants you to do.
@JDaltonAuthor@d_pinot It’s only been eight months for me, but I already recognize those things as the biggest. Social media is not human media. At best it’s just information. At worst it’s manipulation. It’s not what people really need.
@redheadranting@TraditionSarah Remember in days of yore they had fundraising telethons on TV for March of Dimes, Muscular Dystrophy, and PBS. That was before we just sent them all tax dollars without asking us.
@worillessg I like how Kurt Vonnegut answered that question. He said when you write you should have one specific reader in mind. That gives you a very specific focused voice in your product. I paraphrase.
