Football, finance, politics, history. Promised myself I wouldn’t start posting again after deleting my last account. State of Scottish politics changed that.
@andrewdoyle_com@mik61scot It’s very poor. Takes the easy route of kicking the can and fails to accept the law is clear (and not optional). Proper leadership would be accept it, act on it, and be clear the path the organisation is taking to comply with the law. CEO too afraid to confront a vocal minority?
@nessybhoy@EDI_Airport And the trained bomb threat assessor who attended will have had to make the difficult call whether their suspicions were sufficient to invoke this major response. They don’t do it lightly knowing the impact - and may have made the wrong decision - but they were doing their job.
@BlueBrazil1975@chris_sutton73 Agree, but I think we’re so limited at the back that we’ve very little to lose by settling up more positively. Eye-bleeding narrow defeats is the Clarke way in tournaments. 541 with an isolated striker and midfielders out of position won’t get us anywhere. Frustrating to watch!
@ScotlandNT What’s the point of qualifying if we don’t actually go for it when we get there? He’s such a frustrating manager - isolated striker again and it’s not working - change it and have a go! It’s just the Euros all over again at this point.
@JamesMelville 90-odd eye-bleeding minutes of anti-football await. Hope I’m wrong, but this approach to tournament football has an air of familiarity about it..
@SteveLJenkins@afneil From a ridiculous high, yes, and yet it still remains high…and how’s the welfare bill doing? Is that coming down under this government, or are we still just failing to tackle the root causes of that?
@Seanthepork@afneil Agree on mobility - but economies aren’t advanced by failing to support people into work (and when they make continued, expensive and unnecessary dependency more attractive than working and contributing).
@BarryAnderson_ They were asking for a law change after it…but this is what they consider a reasonable punishment. Hardly tallies with the need for new statute. I think they’ve made a grave error here.
@WingsScotland This will absolutely come back to bite them next season. Precedent set. Only hope is it might lead to regime change at the SPFL as they’ve backed themselves into a corner with this leniency.
@spfl Football authorities asking for a law change after the game…now impose a minuscule fine and a suspended capacity reduction. Dangerous precedent set for next season - this will bite the SPFL on the backside - pitch invasion to end a game now seen as worth it 👍🏼
@zoemarie2214@TNLUK It’s an awful change and suspect they’ll lose customers quickly. The chances of matching 6 are clearly slim (even with 2 chances), so massively reducing all other prizes kills any incentive to play. And 2 chances to win a £1 prize is meaningless rather than alluring!
@EdwardJDavey Always fascinates me that the posts from politicians after such events have such an obvious and repetitive 3 point style:
1. Express shock etc
2. Thoughts and prayers/thank responders
3. Allow police to get on with it
Nothing of substance or significance, so why even post?
