Maybe in hindsight it should have been a bigger red flag to the CFB world that the team that finished 1st in the SEC standings lost by 2 touchdowns to a 5-7 ACC team.
With Miami beating Ole Miss, the SEC finishes 1-8 against P4 teams in bowls, 0-3 in the playoff against other P4 teams and doesn’t get to the title game for 3 straight years
So look for ESPN & Greg Sankey to push for 9 SEC teams in the playoff next year

Worst part is all the people that haven’t watched a snap of Tech football all season are going to think this is Morton.
Worst game of his 5 year career, this isn’t who he is. I’m sad
When you realize Alabama (getting absolutely obliterated) only advanced to the quarterfinals because they beat another SEC team, the narratives get really interesting
@scoduckz That’s definitely one way to spin it, nice work.
I am more concerned about the curse of the first round bye after seeing some of this Miami/OSU game.
Illinois was PROPPED UP by the Big Ten biased media to be a Top 9 win for Indiana and a Top 17 win for Ohio State.
One of the BEST teams in the Big Ten needed a walk off field goal to beat the 8th best team in the SEC.
@MarcRyanOnAir This isn't limited to just sports. It speaks more to the overall culture we are in right now. Social media amplifies the self indulgent, narcissistic bravado people use as their identity today. It's sad. Sports is just a microcosm of the world around us.
Am I the only one who finds it funny how many Oregon burners are suddenly flooding my timeline, claiming WE are seeking some sort of validation? 😏
The father of psychoanalysis would like a word..
Am I the only one who finds it funny how Texas Tech fans seek validation through BYU and the Pop Tarts Bowl?
They'll tell you it's because they just really respect the BYU fanbase but it's pretty obvious how insecure they are about their own conference.
Ultimate Freudian slip.
