@ironytyrant@iamrobtv@LegionHoops@TheVolumeSports@ClutchPoints This idea that Tatum is sacrificing stats is ridiculous. Points, maybe, but assists, rebounds, %’s, etc all show effort and contribution. Luka should have 20 assists per game if he wasn’t passing it to g league talent due to injuries. He should honestly be scoring more, not less
@Duffal0@BeGotGame2 Shai has Never, I repeat, NEVER scored even 45 points. How tf can you say he easily could score 50?!? He has played hundreds of games and not been close. He is consistently good, which has value, but this is the most naive take I’ve heard in a while.
@RicthePrickkk@Mavs_FFL Brown played well for sure, he was not really assigned to Randle. You found one player who had a good game against him. Well done, clearly the other 53 games should be invalidated by Brown going off. And you proved my point, brown targeted Luka all night. Stats don’t lie.
@RicthePrickkk@Mavs_FFL Have you watched the mavs at all?!? He is being targeted by opposing teams who buy espn’s dogma in switches and puts up these stats against some of the best players on the floor. Good example…he recently absolutely owned chet and guarded him in the post in both games.
@GrahamCahill4 @mattnein SGA is leading a good team, not carrying them. He is the leader and best player on a team that has been loading up on top level picks for years. My point is the team around him is better than the backups Luka has carried all season. Health is the reason they are a top seed.
@Sebron5879 @mattnein You are right, he would be leading the league in assists because the starters would make more of the wide ass open 3’s he hands to them on a silver platter every game. Not sure how that would work against him. 🙄
@GrahamCahill4 @mattnein Nobody denies that OKC is a young team, just not sure why that is a counter. I would rather have good 23yr olds than injured 28yr olds. Luka carrying this team while they are on crutches is more impressive than a young core that has been developing for years playing well.
@OKCTopicThunder You leave your feet and then make contact, it’s a foul. Period. If the offensive player brushes against the defender who stays on his feet and then fake jumps away to sell a foul, it is a no call.
@LegionHoops@statmuse With a salary of $47.6M, he played in 34 games and they won 26. That means they paid $2.2M for every win if he misses the rest of the season. If this was a contract year, would they make that same deal for next year? NO! Value requires health, otherwise it is hypothetical.
@SloHoopsFan It’s like he gets 2 inches shorter for every step he takes toward the basket. By the time he gets there he is like Barea without the ability to finish.
@crooked_eers@SixersShowYo Plus you missed the playoffs, but did not tank so you get a 6-8 lottery pick and stay irrelevant. As the GM, how much would you pay a player that could guarantee 30 wins, but then takes the rest of the year off while your team sucks?
@crooked_eers@SixersShowYo X player is hypothetically invaluable, but in his injured state, he is now worse than worthless because he is a drag on the salary cap while producing nothing. $40-50M for 0-0-0 stat line on 0 minutes played is a pretty low value. Definitely not the most valuable player.
@blueeyedsun1@statmuse Not sure I would put wilt’s era in the same conversation as the 80s and 90s for physicality, it was probably less that even today, but he definitely played the whole time regardless of the physical level.
@JYoung856Ball@321_Contact@statmuse Yeah, 34.7 points 9.6 assist, and 8.6 rebounds is not even close to 35-10-5. Seems irrelevant to a conversation about someone else averaging a few tenths of a point higher, but without assists.
@grumpyavocadont@xxSnEaKyPxx@TermineRadio Leaonard’s injury on the spurs is a great example. He was “incapable of playing” for months then immediately healed when he was granted the trade to Toronto. Players should have called that out, their bed is made, now sleep in it.
