You should be next @CoachSettle First hand witness to the job you’ve done leading two athletic programs and how you have inspired student athletes for years!
It’s a fallacy to say Texans want “school choice” based on the March 2024 primary. Voter turnout was lower than 2020 primaries. Only 18% of all voters participated in the 2024 primaries. Less than 13% of Republican voters participated. Put it on the ballot and let Texans vote
Under Governor @GregAbbott_TX's leadership, Texas is a national leader in education.
🎓Over 90% public high school graduation rate
🎓Over 88% Hispanic graduation rate
🎓Over 86% Black graduation rate
This session, we'll ensure Texas continues to lead in education! #txlege

School choice is NOT just for wealthy families!
An Education Savings Account can cover the average private school tuition in Texas.
This opens up more opportunities for low-income families across our state. A good education should not be reserved for the wealthy.
Quick, share a picture of Governor @GregAbbott_TX at a public school in the last 2 years. Or having a conversation with any public school leader. Until then, you can’t say all backgrounds, can ya?
Texas families of all backgrounds have spoken, and they want school choice.
Governor @GregAbbott_TX will work with the Texas Legislature to get school choice across the finish line this session.
Lubbock-Cooper ISD Superintendent Keith Bryant has announced his plan to retire following the close of the 2024-25 school year.
If you know him personally, you know he would much rather chat about his grandsons or his favorite fly fishing expeditions than discuss his accolades or numerous successes as an educational leader. However, we are incredibly proud of his tremendous career, and so grateful for his guidance over the LCP family for more than a decade, so we'd like to share anyway...
Superintendent Bryant is in his 33rd year in education, 21st year as a superintendent, and his 11th year of leading LCISD, having joined the LCP family in 2014. During his tenure at Lubbock-Cooper, the district opened New Hope Academy (a non-traditional high school campus), East Elementary School, and Liberty High School. Overseeing the district through the passing of two successful bond campaigns (including the largest bond election in Lubbock County history), he supervised rebuilds of Lubbock-Cooper Middle School and South Elementary, and significant additions to Lubbock-Cooper High School, Laura Bush Middle School, Central Elementary, North Elementary, and West Elementary (in addition to a number of upgrades to facility operational systems and district extracurricular facilities). He introduced multiple student programs to LCISD, including wrestling, orchestra, swimming and diving, soccer, and pom and dance. The district's Dual Language program was developed under his guidance, along with the expansion of OnRamps and dual credit offerings, and the establishment of the Pirate Scholars initiative. Recently, the district saw its most successful UIL award year in school history (2023-24) under Superintendent Bryant's leadership.
With Superintendent Bryant at the helm, the district implemented a one-to-one device program and campus digital learning specialists to integrate technology into classrooms district-wide. He placed a significant emphasis on Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs, to include the introduction of Health Sciences, resulting in the program's current status as one of the most robust CTE departments among similar-sized districts across the state. He also led the district through the development of a Community-Based Accountability System in response to a need for a more comprehensive and parent-driven school rating system than what is utilized by the state.
His more personalized initiatives included the inception of "Cookies with Keith," an opportunity for staff to meet directly with Superintendent Bryant on their own campuses, allowing for open and honest dialogue about district operations and initiatives. Over the past two years, he has authored hundreds of personalized letters to teacher-nominated LCISD students, thanking them for serving as role models in the school community and congratulating them on a wide variety of accomplishments.
Superintendent Bryant established a number of outreach initiatives including the Anchor Mentoring Program, the EMBARK business and community collaboration, the Lubbock-Cooper Moms Group, and the student-comprised Superintendent's Advisory Council. He helped grow a newly-founded Lubbock-Cooper Education Foundation into a thriving charitable organization. He also played a role in a number of community improvement campaigns, including strongly advocating for infrastructure updates and a variety of local initiatives for the betterment of LCISD and Lubbock area families. He has served on the Lubbock Area United Way and Lubbock Chamber of Commerce boards, has chaired the Lubbock March of Dimes March for Babies campaign, and has served on the PlanLubbock 2040 Comprehensive Plan Advisory Committee. He currently serves on the Lubbock Chamber of Commerce Governmental Relations Committee and the board of directors for Lubbock Youth SUMMIT and the Texas Tech chapter of the National Football Foundation.
Superintendent Bryant also serves on the UIL Legislative Council (which he chaired last year), is the treasurer for the Fast Growth Schools Coalition, and serves on the Texas Association of School Board (TASB) Benefits Cooperative Board and the UIL Region 16 Music Executive Committee. His long history of public education advocacy also includes service on the Texas Association of School Administrators (TASA) Commissioner's Cabinet, Legislative and Executive Committees, the Lone Star Investment Board, and as the former president of the Texas Association of Midsize Schools. Superintendent Bryant was named the 2019 Texas Superintendent of the Year by TASA, and was the Texas Nominee for the 2020 National Superintendent of the Year.
"When I joined Lubbock-Cooper ISD in August of 2014, I was immediately struck by the warmth, dedication, and passion of this community," Superintendent Bryant shared. "We are blessed with incredibly talented and professional teachers and administrators who impact the future each day through their dedication to our mission. To the support staff who work tirelessly behind the scenes, to the families who entrust us with their children, and to the students whose energy and potential inspire us daily, please know that you are the reason that Lubbock-Cooper is a district of excellence."
The LCISD Board of Trustees will begin the search for a new superintendent in the coming weeks. Superintendent Bryant will continue to lead the district through the end of June 2025.
"Thank you for allowing me the privilege of serving as your superintendent," he said. "It has been the honor of a lifetime to lead and learn alongside all of you. May God continue to bless each of you, and may God continue to bless Lubbock-Cooper ISD."
This debate has nothing to do with the border, all Texans want that solved. This has everything to do with special interest issues, including school choice. And I think you understand that but would rather spin a false narrative
If Dustin Burrows is elected to the Speaker of The House of Representatives in Texas, all of America loses. Dustin Burrows has Teamed up with Democrats to go against the will of Texans. Nothing will change at the border with Burrows as Speaker!
@Region10ESC Doug is the best in the business! No one has worked harder for public education than he has. Proud to call him my friend and boss for 21 years
An honor of a lifetime to have led an amazing team of educators @SunnyvaleISD Thank you to our board members, staff, parents, community, and especially the amazing students of #RaiderNation for countless memories. Raiders Rise! Press On!
Not all Texans do @brianeharrison The 17th amendment to the Constitution calls for the direct election of Senators. Providing this power to the state legislature nullifies that provision in my opinion. Would you be ok if county commissioners could remove you from office?
I filed a bill to authorize the Texas Legislature to recall U.S. Senators who go rogue.
Texas must act boldly like the sovereign state our founders intended.
