On this day in 1965, the Montreal Canadiens defeated the Chicago Black Hawks and won the Stanley Cup.
It was the first time a Stanley Cup Final game was played in May.
Jean Beliveau won the first Conn Smythe Trophy as Playoff MVP. He had 18 points in 13 games.
