It’s Scotland’s energy and it should be in Scotland’s hands, not Westminster’s because for every day it is, is another day of Scotland’s potential wasted.

First Minister John Swinney joined activists in Cove this weekend to campaign with our candidate for Aberdeen South Richard Thomson.
Vote SNP on June 18th to ensure that Scotland’s energy is in Scotland’s hands.
Had a great weekend chapping doors and spending time at the wonderful Cove Gala with the First Minister and SNP Westminster Leader Dave Doogan. 🏴
Only 10 days left, let’s do this!
Scotland’s energy wealth should work for Scotland.
The SNP will always stand up for keeping Scotland’s resources in Scotland’s hands, not letting Westminster, Farage or the Tories take the benefit.
On Thursday 18 June, vote SNP in the Aberdeen South by-election.
Scotland needs full power over our energy policy. We have huge renewables resource, part of the solution to Europe’s energy security needs. But projects in Scotland face punitive charges compared to those elsewhere in the UK - https://t.co/FjnBCBaZF9
🔴 As I reported via @stvnews on Monday, the Mandelson files showed that Peter Mandelson put then-trade minister Douglas Alexander in touch with an employee from the Mandelson-founded lobbying outfit Global Counsel via email (22nd July 2024)
Douglas Alexander then went onto have a meeting with Global Counsel nine days later on 31/07/24. It’s not clear who he met or what he discussed – questions have been raised regarding national security concerns 👇
Well done @lucyidunn on reporting on Douglas Alexander and his secretive links with Peter Mandelson, Global Counsel, Russia and China👇
Alexander broke the Ministerial Code.
Why is he still allowed to hide?
The SNP is not “proposing to take control” of any committee. The party affiliation of conveners and vice conveners are determined by D’Hondt to ensure proportionality.

Peter Mandelson was pulling the strings in the Labour government and furthering his business interests.
SNP Westminster Leader @DaveDooganSNP has called for an investigation Douglas Alexander over his secret meeting with Mandelson’s lobby firm 👇
Interesting points: no public funds have been embezzled - the sole victim is @theSNP and its members.
Enough funds can be recovered from Murrell via ‘proceeds of crime’ mechanisms to repay the £400k he embezzled.
NEW: The SNP have called for Douglas Alexander to be sacked as Scottish Secretary after "gushing" WhatsApp messages revealed Peter Mandelson helped him get selected as the Labour Party's candidate in Lothian East 🥀

Labour said it would protect Grangemouth.
Instead, Westminster has allowed Scotland’s refinery to close while easing sanctions on aviation fuel made from Russian oil.
Scotland’s energy workers deserve better and Scotland deserves control over its own energy future.
Exclusive from @oliver_wright
Rachel Reeves solicited advice from Lord Mandelson when he was chair of a lobbying company that was trying to influence the policies of the new Labour government
Emails in the so-called Mandelson files reveal that the chancellor’s chief of staff contacted the peer asking him to “pop in” to the Treasury at short notice to brief her about trade before a meeting the following day
At the time, in November 2024, Mandelson was chairman of Global Counsel, the lobbying firm he had founded, which worked for a number of companies including JP Morgan, Shell and Palantir
No record of the meeting was publicly disclosed despite the ministerial code requiring government departments to publish details of ministers’ meetings with external organisations and individuals
The code states: “Where a minister meets an external organisation or individual in an official capacity, details of these meetings must be declared. This applies to meetings with lobbyists.”
A Treasury source said the meeting was not declared because it was not held in the chancellor’s “ministerial capacity” and suggested that because Mandelson was a peer this meant he fell outside the declaration rules. The source said that officials were happy with the approach taken.

Scotland has enormous energy resources that should help lower our bills - but the powers to make these decisions remain at Westminster.
Decisions about Scotland’s energy should be made in Scotland, and last week Parliament endorsed that view.
