In 1903, John Muir did something no politician, no senator, no army of lobbyists could do. @BeschlossDC We spent the holiday in DC. Stayed with a friend, ate cheap, hot & humid. The Smithsonian Nations exhibit was a celebration of our past. The new Air & Space Museum our future. We laid on the lawn by the Wash. Monument for music, lasers and fireworks that night with 1MM. Glorious!

The US House just PASSED, 420-0 a resolution directs the House Ethics Committee to preserve and publicly release records related to monetary settlements involving acts of sexual harassment/misconduct by House members (current or former).

Massie brought it as a privileged resolution, forcing a quick floor vote. No one spoke against it.

What happens next?

No Senate action needed— The Ethics Committee must now release the records publicly (likely within ~60 days).

Expect names, settlement amounts, and details to come out (redacted victim info in some cases).

Clarence Thomas argued the 14th Amendment was written narrowly for former enslaved people and doesn't apply broadly today. Using that same logic, the 2nd Amendment was written for muskets and doesn't apply to AR-15's, but somehow, he's never made that argument.
