Ss amazed me today by independently researching & teaching each other during Breakout Rms @recess how to make & upload a B-day card for a classmate who celebrates his B-day tomorrow. I hope you all have a FUN Spring Break! Make kites & experiment with planting
We did LIVE, on camera Easter eggs decorating session! I followed students’ instructions while choosing colours, lines, and patterns. We discussed zigzag, waved, spiralling lines & all kinds of patterns. Many learning opportunities!

If you want to laugh, this is me on the Wacky Hair Day. Today my ESL student spoke for the very 1st time&asked why is my hair blue? He also asked if I’m going to have green hair tomorrow? Making fun of myself well worth it😂 #SpiritWeek#Kindergartenteacher#SynchronousTeaching
My virtual classroom setup includes an old monitor to extend the laptop screen, so I can see all of the 28 students while screen-sharing. This allows for as much human contact as possible! I can see expressions# on their faces!#onlineteaching#virtualclassroom#homeoffice
Celebrating Christmas Character Day as Santa and Rudolph. We introduced those two stories to the class and worked on Opinion Writing.
Which character is your favourite? Santa or Rudolph? #ChristnasSpiritWeek@HilaryDPCDSB
The highlight of my day was when I found this unexpected gift of home baked 🎄 cookies on my desk... a gift from a former student of mine.
I only interact with students virtually now, so this physical gift touched my heart ❤️ and soul 🙏#Christmas2020
@NancyBotelho Thank you🙏 so much for your kind words. For any teacher, words like yours are the best reward for our efforts. I miss both, Emily and Jeremy very much, but I see them occasionally and their priceless SMILES brighten my day😊
💕
@NancyBotelho one of those cards was created by Emily...what a treat it is to get to know her, to appreciate her many talents, and her gentle personality... Having the connection to Jeremy, whose smile and personality I miss every day made such a difference to me😊💕
Our Apple 🍏 🍎 Investigation helped us learn about making predictions, drawing diagrams, making graphs, guessing the number of seeds inside of an apple, counting, & representing the number in many different ways #AppleInvestigation#Science#Kindergarten#inquiry@HilaryDPCDSB
