Candy Hansen-Koharcheck was one of my favorite people to interview. She died last month, after nearly 50 years in planetary science. I wrote about her enthusiasm for capturing cosmic wonder and sharing it with everyone on Earth, for @ScienceNews: https://t.co/TTRcaNUFVl
Only one chance in this lifetime…
Like watching sunset at the beach from the most foreign seat in the cosmos, I couldn’t resist a cell phone video of Earthset. You can hear the shutter on the Nikon as @Astro_Christina is hammering away on 3-shot brackets and capturing those exceptional Earthset photos through the 400mm lens. @AstroVicGlover was in window 3 watching with @Astro_Jeremy next to him.
I could barely see the Moon through the docking hatch window but the iPhone was the perfect size to catch the view…this is uncropped, uncut with 8x zoom which is quite comparable to the view of the human eye. Enjoy.
i’ve never been to american cities really but why does chicago look cooler than all the other ones. like the main city. it just looks cooler and i can’t figure it out
Here's the full photo briefly featured in my recent video post showing @BlackGryph0n against the full solar chromosphere after his jump. Crazy how small he looks despite being nearly 50,000,000x closer!
This ended up being my most popular print (vs the closeup) linked in my bio.
