Downpatrick Lions & ICare Charity Christmas Appeal: A collection for disadvantaged young people in the Downpatrick area. Please drop gifts suitable for young teenagers (male/female toiletry sets, hygiene sets, sleepwear, socks, hats, scarves at the Oakley Fayre cafe on Market St.
Thanks to ASDA, we were able to deliver hampers full of treats for the staff of 3 local nursing homes in recognition of the hard work, commitment & courage during these challenging times. They went to Lecale Lodge Care Home, King’s Castle & Ringdufferin Nursing Homes.
Like many clubs, Downpatrick Lions have kept in touch with each other via Zoom....but we’re meeting at the Lakeside Inn again on 5/8. Our 3 Lakes event will be a little different this year- check back for more details soon. Check our Facebook page. We still need your support!
Raymond Crea-Downpatrick Lions new President. He takes over from John Dennis who said ‘My year, although disrupted by C19, has been very rewarding & I thank Club members & the public for their enthusiasm & support.’ Raymond stated his delight & looks ahead with positivity.
HERO SHIELD. We now reach out to front-line workers in hospitals, nursing homes, GP surgeries, paramedics, dentists, etc in our area who are in need of visors. If you do require them please email [email protected] or [email protected] for supply.

In 4 weeks Lions Clubs across Ireland have donated over £80k to this project; set up to manufacture & supply free visors to front-line workers most at risk from Covid-19.

Downpatrick Lions Club recently held their Annual Charter Night @ Frenchs to celebrate their 47th year of serving the people of Downpatrick & Ireland. Baroness Ritchie of Downpatrick was the guest speaker, who gave an interesting and informative talk about her life in politics.

Over a 12 hour period today, Downpatrick Lions held their Xmas collection at ASDA. Thanks to them for hosting us & huge thanks to the folks in the town for their generosity once again. You all make such a difference.
