@eshaLegal I see tons of people saying this is awful, and i got to defend my culture. You might not be one of them but a lot of people are being very hateful towards this cultural ”rule”
@funwakinmade You are right now calling a different culture BAD because of something that you dont agree with. In sweden this is not a problem, people do not go hungry like you might think based on this thread. This is a textbook examplen of racism smh
#Swedengate making all swedes seem like total racists and awful people by the actions of a small minority of us. Aswell as non swedes critisising our culture of not offering food/ expecting to be offered food everytime you visit. You guys are ridiculous
@BrendaKlassen I am allowed to defend myself when people lie about me culture right? People in this thread clearly make it seem like all swedes do this or that. I am not claiming that racism doesnt exist in sweden, it very much does.
@anihtek Well, ”hatred” then? Whatever word you want to use, disdain for the other will just increase. You think you are doing society a service by creating more hatred and increasing polarization
@luckytilldeathx @pIsdontbanme How can you be so narrow minded that you take a few peoples experience on twitter as gospel? You do not live here so why do you act like you know our culture better than we do?
@BenjaminFridh @luckytilldeathx@Carambaraaa This is the correct answer. Often times the parents ask the kids or their parents. People here make it seem as if we do not offer food in an circumstance based on little anecdotal evidence… it is not out of unkindness, it is rather just our culture.
@anihtek The swedes will see this stuff which is put out of context and start to feel more disdain for the people saying it. All it does is create more racism. It doesnt help beat racism
@anihtek I see tons of blatant racism towards swedish culture in this thread, a lot of which from people who dont know the culture, some of which totally made up. This will create polarization between these two groups.
@lovettejallow While it may be completely normal in other cultures. Offering food in sweden is not expected, both from the visitor and the homeowner. Few expect to be offered food and few offer it. If you ask for it very few people would tell you no.
@lovettejallow And what do you think i was talking about? Using the n-word to refer to chokladbollar? That has been pretty much completely shifted out of most people vocab. Not offering food everytime someone visits? It is not a part of our culture like it is many other
@theneedledrop look up Xander Reign on spotify. He makes awful covers of popular songs and names them the same as original so that it plays right after the original if you search by song title (Sorrh for my bad grammar)
