Part of the marvellous Cornwall haem team supporting Blood Sciences, Outpatients, Lowen Ward, Headland. I'm Tweeting dept updates, learning, miscellaneous. All views my own. If things are good please share! If things aren't good then DM or my office door is open
Did I mention that the best job in the world (see previous thread) is out to advert? If any friendly haematologists with fond memories of visiting Cornwall want to stay forever then have a peep at this👇

@julietrickard16 Thanks Juliet! And I didn't devote enough characters to yelling about just how good our Lowen team are. For all we're getting a new building, it's the staff that make it such a great place to work 😁😇⭐
10/10 Followers: RT, add your own comments if you please, big up Cornwall! And for any of the fab haem docs I follow (shameless namedropping) - @bhwords@ProfMakris @Sue_Pavord @DrRakeshPopat@awechalekar@graham74GC - RT does not imply endorsement of tweet #3 …
9/10 Conclusion: We are friendly, we are forward thinking, we value teamwork above subspecialty. So, existing consultants who fancy a change, StRs near end of training, international docs with correct qualifications; I’ll try to reply to all genuine expressions of interest.
The loveliest thing is how different our patients are...as these two beautiful but very different letters show in their own unique ways. Well done wonderful Headland Team @RCHTWeCare
During the last two weeks of April a robotic revolution has been quietly happening in Pathology! The Clinical Chemistry automation laboratory has been transferred from the Tower block into the recently refurbished Link corridor Haematology lab. @RCHTWeCare#Cornwall#chemistry
CLASSIC SCIENCE DRAMA
An immune cell hunting a bacterium among red blood cells. It almost gets distracted by another bacterium (note the little side protrusion), but gets the job done. It is a suspenseful story with a satisfying ending. Filmed through a microscope by David Rogers
This is the latest data on the number of patients with VITTs in the UK, issued today from the MHRA & covering up to 14/4/21
Note they report one case after second dose of A-Z, but not enough detail to know if this individual was positive for ant- platelet factor 4 antibodies
British living guidance on post - vaccine thrombosis & thrombocytopenia. It is based on daily discussions between UK thrombosis experts & physicians caring for patients with this new syndrome
