The phone lines are burning up all over BC and there’s one shared goal: defeat David Eby.

He has awakened a sleeping dragon and this won’t end well for him.

I came across a provincial government website and this map was on it.
I actually saw most of Vancouver Island but decided to stick to the Campbell River area for now.

As you can see the entirety of Beaver Lodge Forest Lands and about 1/4 of Elk Falls Park seems to be identified for consideration of transfer under the Incremental Treaty Agreement (ITA) or related land transfer process.

I know how important and beloved these lands are to everyone so I decided to do an FOI to verify if this was or is actually being considered.

Unfortunately my request for the records for Beaver Lodge Forest Lands were withheld in their entirety persuant to multiple sections including section 15- DISCLOSURE HARMFUL TO LAW EMFORCEMENT.

I am still wating for a reponse to my FOI request for Elk Falls.

I strongly believe in democracy and tranparency by governments.
I also believe in reconciliation but that all processes including reconciliation must be transparent.
As an MLA, I represent ALL my constitituents and I feel since this government is not being transparent, my constituents deserve to know.

I have also started two petitions to present to the legislature.
I have included them in this posts and you can pick them up at my office.

I personally feel that the entirety of Beaver Lodge Forests and Elk Falls Park should PERMAMENTLY remain publlc lands for all British Columbians to enjoy.

We are seeing more and more politicisation of the provision of healthcare which ultimately puts patient safety at risk.

The HPOA (Health Professions and Occupation Act) is an example of politicisation of healthcare.
The HPOA was passed by this NDP government and it completely removes the self-governance of the regulatory process of all of healthcare including doctors, nurses, psychologists, physios, naturopaths ect.
All positions on health boards and Disciplinary Tribunals are now appointed directly or indirectly by politicians.
And remember, this government also recently removed the post of the Merit Commissioner which reviewed appointments and hirings to make sure the position was won on merit and not political connections.

Another example of politicisation of healthcare is the recent Human Rights Tribunal's decision in Dr Ajaero's case.
Dr Ajaero was fined $28,100 for refusing to administer and injectable drug (GnRH agonist) prescribed by another doctor on the basis that it conflicted with his religious belief and he was unfamiliar with this medication.
This decision by the Tribunal sets a dangerous precedent of ignoring practice standards set by the College of Physicians and Surgeons. How can you give proper informed consent when you are not familiar with the medication?

And now the Canadian Medical Association embeds social justice into it's new ethic code.
The previous code adopted in 2004, prohibited discrimination based on race, religion,sex, disability, political affiliation and other characterisics.

In the new code, "Doctors are now expected to adopt a very specific kind of political theory to their clinical work and professional relationships".
And "nothing in the code explains how to resolve the conflict of accepting one's own personal truth and respecting objective truths".

Logic dictates the if doctors assess each patient through the lens of race, that itself sets for bias and discrimination depending on the race.
We should be treating the illness, not the race or culture.

Unfortunately, the same is happening to nurses who have updated their code of ethics which denounces the "white, European-centric" foundations of modern medicine and a "planetary health lens" to care.

These new codes of ethics we are seeing in healthcare are political in nature and dangerous. They promote division, discrimination and ideology all of which have no place in healthcare.

Are you kidding me

This NDP government has cancelled 7 Long Term Care projects and Burnaby Hospital expansion this year alone and we are getting further behind in much needed healthcare infrastructures.

My community of Campbell River has been promised a Long Term Care home for a few years now.

And our seniors are languishing in much needed hospitals beds for months waiting for LTC bed while over 50 hospitals in B.C. are running overcapacity.

Saying it does not make it so.
Get your fiscal house in order.

I have to say, the more I get to know KLF, the more impressed I am. This week at UBCM was no exception

KLF has and will focus on the real issues British Columbians care about.
The conservative platform remains the same as her excellent speech at UBCM demonstrated.

The difference is, she has a true vision and plan on how to get there.

KLF is a natural leader. A big part of being a good leader is also listening to the "front lines" and shifting when you have to. It's not about pandering to egos.

I personally have no time for egos, drama or people who are self-centered.
Like KLF, we need to put British Columbiams first. Period.

What is being transfered in my riding (North Island)???

The process is far from being transparent.
I did two FOI's months ago requesting information about two beloved lands in my riding and their potential transfers under incremental treaty agreements.

The records I requested were withheld pursuant to multiple sections including section 15 - DISCLOSURE HARMFUL TO LAW ENFORCEMENT.

With respect, this statement from former AGs is at best totally meaningless, and at worst totally misleading. It’s like saying “all contracts are good” without getting into the substance of said contracts.

Worse, it ignores the fact that Eby's treaties are very different and far more concerning than previously-negotiated treaties.

Eby’s treaties:
➡️Embed UNDRIP (as in the K’omoks Treaty).
➡️Contain undemocratic “co-management” provisions akin to the Land Act Amendments.
➡️Give away BC’s provincial parks (2 being transferred via the Te’mexw Treaty alone).
➡️Hand over historic sites like Hatley Park & Castle.
➡️Entail massive transfers of public land & money, much of it undisclosed, with little if anything in return.
➡️Shut the public out of crucial info, even as that info is made available to the Indigenous public.
➡️Involve signing modern treaties overtop of historic treaties, with implications for all of Canada.

What Eby’s treaties do NOT do is just as problematic:
🚫They do NOT provide certainty. They’re “living agreements” that provide no finality at all.
🚫They do NOT provide stability. A deal signed with one group = threats of legal challenges & civil disobedience from other groups.
🚫They do NOT set out “exhaustive” rights as in prior models, but instead provide processes to allow for further exercisable rights to be asserted, meaning...
🚫They do NOT fully protect private property because private landowners are NOT necessarily shielded from such claims (link to legal analysis below).
🚫And, they do NOT guarantee continued public access to parks and public lands.

Most of these provisions do not appear in any of the previous modern or historic treaties in Canada.

Acting as though Eby's radical treaties are comparable to Canada's historic and prior modern-era treaties is straight-up irresponsible.

Politicians should not be making "healthcare" policies which focus on how to "practice" medicine.
Think "safe supply" which ended up causing more harm than good.

They don't have the expertise or training and decisions are often based on ideology rather than ever changing science.

This NDP government should stick to policies as to how best fund a univeral healthcare system that is sustainable and in which every British Columbian can access care in a timely way.

Start by collecting data, make the data transparent and be accountable to the data you collect.

This NDP government passed and is fully implementing the HPOA (bill 36)
By doing so, healthcare is no longer sef-regulated and has become political.

Politicians can now not only decide what healthcare workers can say but also how they practice.

BC’s NDP-accountable regulator cautioned a realtor for political speech.

Corbin Chivers posted about land claims and the closure of Joffre Lakes, a public park, to anyone outside two First Nations. One line mentioned in this post included: “Wrong skin color? Stay out. This isn’t reconciliation. This is racist segregation with better marketing.”

This post didn’t even talk about a real estate listing or a real estate client. It was just talking about public policy.

BCFSA still warned him the comments were polarizing, inflammatory, and discriminatory, and could bring the industry into disrepute.

BCFSA is a Crown agency that reports to the Finance Minister. The NDP ended real-estate self-regulation and put licences under government in 2021.

You do not surrender free speech when you get a licence.

This is happening while political speech is already being squeezed: Recently police in Surrey showed up at someone’s door over online posts, and B.C.’s Attorney General is pushing a Criminal Code “denialism” offence while staying vague about what words would become a crime.

That is how debate gets chilled without a ban.
