Finally got my Bloodborne PC Remaster to version 1.0. No mod is ever perfect but i'm really happy with this one. As a refresher, it brings dynamic shadows for everything, higher res textures, parallax occlusion mapping, better AA, DoF, SSAO, edits lightmaps, new shininess maps
I love the idea that an energy drink company reached out to the guy who designed mechs and cars for Bubblegum Crisis, and one of the most popular supermodel of the 80's, to do a commercial and said to them, "Here's the idea: bikini armor warrior woman in the Dune universe."
Funny story about this. The only reason why the "Adventurer's Guild" trope exists is due to the video game Wizardry.
Fantasy in Japan was not introduced through novels like Lord of the Rings or Conan. It was video games like Wizardry, which became a major inspiration for Dragon's Quest and Final Fantasy.
In Wizardry, you didn't have a set party. You created your own characters and death was permanent, so it wasn't uncommon to create new characters. Swapping and "grinding" were essential aspects of the game.
Before you went to the dungeon, you were town where you level up, get items, create new characters, and swap characters. Where did you swap characters? Adventurer's Guild.
So now you know why this trope seems to be every anime. It's based on a video game in the 80s that still sways influence today.
It's so short, but it's so damn sweet. And it's done by all new staff. Let this lead into something exciting. You (Bandai) know what the people (ME) want. More G Gundam ❤
It looks like DLSS 5 was an AI-gen filter after all.
YouTube Creator “Daniel Owen” asked Nvidia some questions regarding DLSS 5 and if it essentially just takes a single 2D frame with motion vectors as input to generate the output frame.
The amount of buzz words Jensen Huang said like; Neural Rendering, Content-Control Generative AI and generative control at the geometry level just to end up admitting that DLSS 5 is what everyone suspected;
an AI filter on top of your video-games.
Reminder that Perfect Dark has been completely recompiled and is playable in it's entirety on PC, with online multiplayer support!
It features updated control schemes with responsive mouse and keyboard controls, wide screen and high framerate support!
PS: If anyone is looking to collaborate on an HD mod, I am happy to do the artwork and remastering!
🚨 Do you understand what's happening at Amazon right now?
Their own AI coding agent Kiro reportedly "decided" the fastest way to fix a config error was to delete the entire production environment. Gone. A 6-hour outage. 6.3 million orders lost.
Amazon's SVP called thousands of engineers into a mandatory meeting this week. Not to discuss strategy. To discuss damage control.
Now here's my prediction and I want you to screenshot this:
Amazon won't just ban AI-assisted code. They'll make every engineer personally liable for AI-generated code they approve. Other Big Tech will follow within 6 months.
Think about what that means.
The same companies that fired thousands of engineers to "restructure around AI" are about to tell the remaining ones.. you're now legally responsible for code you didn't write, can't fully understand, and were told to ship faster.
Atlassian fired 1,600 people this morning to go all-in on AI. Replit is hiring kids who vibe code. And Amazon, the company that BUILT one of these AI coding agents just watched it nuke production.
The vibe coding era isn't ending. But the "move fast and let AI break things" era is about to hit a wall. And that wall is called liability.
Companies wanted AI to replace engineers. Now they need engineers to babysit AI. And they already fired the babysitters.
