Rose Tata Wafula is more than 50 hours into teaching the Guinness World Record longest science lesson - https://t.co/IChYDMxR4C - amazing story from the Daily Nation: https://t.co/we1J2zl1qf
@matthewcgray Also, the "duration spread" (i.e. cost differentials) across that 12/24-hour curve, the 4-hour curve you've already calculated, and the coal/fossil curve would be fascinating to see.
@matthewcgray Thanks! 4 hours seems like a reasonable choice for a first pass analysis. However, I'd be quite interested to see the cost curve using a longer duration for renewables storage, perhaps 12 or even 24 hours.
ICEF Innovation Roadmap Project chaired by @columbiaclimate's @dsandalow has released its 10th clean energy roadmap, providing "...important research on a wide range of technologies for helping achieve net zero emissions," says @IPCC_CH chair Hoesung Lee. https://t.co/5K5HUTHND5
Congratulations to Alain Aspect for winning the #NobelPrize! Thanks for being good humored at ICOLS 2005 in Scotland when I also showed up wearing a kilt 😀 #Physics
With the need for up to 1,000 Gt of #carbonremoval by 2100, we are working with @Microsoft to scale the deployment of all viable CDR methods. Read our 2022 update to the Criteria for High-Quality Carbon Dioxide Removal here ⬇️ https://t.co/yY7cN8GqNm
Boulder County just launched a Climate Innovation Fund and we're looking for project proposals that support #carbondioxideremoval and landscape resilience & restoration. Learn more here: https://t.co/mFsNI9Hd34
For #InternationalWomensDay, @GreenBiz highlighted 8 women shaping the future of finance and ESG. Our Vice Chairwoman, Nili Gilbert, is one of them. Read how she's working with our team of 60+ scientists to finance the transition to a #NetZero economy ⬇️ https://t.co/IkA5bkk6cQ
@DustinMulvaney@JesseJenkins What about ammonia? It’s well developed for industrial HPs, and production could presumably scale faster. Also has zero GWP. It’s been studied for residential use for years although obviously has drawbacks.
@carbonplanorg So happy to see this! Too many supposedly public datasets are actually very hard to use, particularly when different entries have to be laboriously matched across datasets. Kudos to @carbonplanorg for making these data much more accessible!
Direct Air Capture (DAC) may be an important technology for addressing the #ClimateCrisis, but only if we can figure out who will pay for it, and how. Here's a look at the possible revenue streams for companies that build and operate DAC plants. #carbon https://t.co/860DKyX7Oe
