@FosterTalk There is something missing here...what about standards 13-31? Foster carers know little about these, and services often less given that these standards are often not followed. Are you planning a version of these standards for social workers as well to raise awareness?
PHE should not be complicit with the government's plan to weaken PPE recommendations yet again... a plastic apron is completely inappropriate for protection against Covid contamination... Arguing that a plastic apron is 'better than nothing' is moral bankruptcy.
We are key. Keeping streets safe, caring for the ill, driving food, emptying rubbish bins - you are key. Staying home and stopping spread - you are key. Being ill with Covid, or something else - you are key. Everyone is key. #WeAreKey
I believe that wearing masks may provide some degree of direct protection, but more importantly they serve as an 'anchor' and constant reminder to people for more consistent social distancing and hand hygiene. Great promotional video from the Czechs:

Just reading that Michael Gove tries to blame China for the lack of testing capacity and the poor response to the epidemic. In fact, successive Tory governments have deliberately ignored warnings about the lack of pandemic preparation in the UK for years.
Heard the government's announcement today that they want to increase COVID-19 testing capacity to 25,000 tests per day. Good guesses estimate that >60% of the population will likely be infected within the next 6 months. With this capacity it would take >3 years to test people
