@Botanygeek I think there is a lot to critique about the nova scale and UPFs as they relate to health. No doubt the media doesn’t always convey the nuance. It’s a line of enquiry with some evidence that supports it’s worth investigating further.

@Botanygeek Curry powder wouldn’t by default be put into the UPF bucket. It’s also not about the number of ingredients. I’d recommend reading the literature on the Nova processing scale which should be helpful inform on what UPF is and isn’t
