The scale measures gravitational pull on total body mass. It does not measure metabolic capacity, insulin sensitivity, glucose disposal efficiency, or the functional status of your skeletal muscle, which is the tissue that determines all of those outcomes. A person can lose weight by losing muscle and register progress on the only metric most health conversations prioritize. That is not progress. It is a metabolic liability.

Skeletal muscle is the organ of longevity. It governs how your body processes fuel, responds to insulin, and maintains function across decades. Stop using weight as the primary measure of health and start building the tissue that determines metabolic capacity. The scale cannot measure that. Muscle can.

Tapper wanted to put words in his mouth, but Ladapo saw it coming.

Tapper: “So you’re trying to lift the vaccine mandate in Florida, and you didn’t even do a projection as to how this could impact public health?”
