@MichaelRosenYes Definitely say them differently. For me, ‘Hugh’ has an aspirated /h/ whereas in ‘Hall’ the /h/ is almost voiced as it blends with the ‘all’ sound.

@Melanated_Mona I read this photo v. differently to the OP. If I were in that place, I would be at the back (I am white), because I am not royal. Certainly those at the back are black, but I assume from their dress, they had been doing a traditional dance and were invited to be in the photo.
