While SB17 & SB18 are devastating, faculty in TX public colleges & universities should keep in mind that SB17 explicitly concerns DEI offices & programs, not curriculum. (The anti-CRT bill, SB 16, was not voted out of committee, though it may come up again in a special session.) Let’s be sure our admins respect academic freedom in implementing these laws.
