This morning, I answered a phone call from “Unknown,” just for fun. And then 13yo and I spent nearly ten hours stringing along a scammer who thought he was getting money from me.
I needed one of you there to live tweet this, but here’s the basic idea of the conversations:
@attyJames_Jones @Tommy_USA Denver Public Schools tried this.... the problem wasn’t will or number of busses. The problem became the fact they could not fully staff the system with enough bus drivers. #nationwideshortage So transportation becomes the way to deminish true “choice”.
@SouthJerzGiants @T01Susan @DeAngelisCorey@realDonaldTrump I’m in an urban area! And some of those options that pop up “sell” false promises and families fall for their lies. I have many examples of charter schools in Denver Metro that are being out preformed by the neighborhood schools full of students living in poverty.
@SouthJerzGiants @T01Susan @DeAngelisCorey@realDonaldTrump Nation-wide school bus driver shortage for many years! School districts can’t fully staff drivers and cities either. Districts have tried to get creative but nothing has solved for the lack of willing and able drivers.
@DeAngelisCorey Families experiencing poverty don’t always have the transportation or abilities to go to their “school of choice”. So basically you are saying there is “Choice” but it’s not really a choice... why simultaneously defunding their neighborhood school. #SystematicRacism
@nexton9news just want to give a huge thank you to the under appreciated workers at the City of Aurora and every city. The mechanics behind the scenes at the city keep our first responders on their job. They make sure all the city vehicles are working. #HeyNext
Wish for Wheels and Monarch Investment & Management came together to donate brand new bikes and helmets for all of our second grade students! #ibuiltabike. Thank you!!
According to Darling-Hammond (2009), for a teacher to learn a new skill to the extent that it will positively impact student learning, they need approximately 50 hours of professional development (which includes coaching). How might we transform adult learning with this in mind?
If you've attended one of our Resilience workshops, you've likely seen this image—the cycle of an emotion. From centuries-old mindfulness practices to present-day psychology, we cultivate our resilience in the space between stimulus and response—and that's where our power lies.
Have you seen my blog about three ways to build your emotional resilience at the start of the school year? Keep these tips handy for the first weeks of school. https://t.co/EzfqMhlISL
