We cannot allow GPs and hospital doctors to be replaced by less qualified people. Patients need their problems dealt with by those with specialist training yet these specialists are out of work!

PAs start on ~£10k more than a doctor, this is not an economically viable model.

SCPs have a well defined scope of practice: performing parts of a lap cholecystectomy with or without supervision has never been acceptable
