15mins later, Hospital 2 HCP 3) so we're discharging you, but if anything changes, don't hesitate to call us back & come in again, you did the right thing coming to your nearest hospital and it's no problem to arrange follow on care at hospital 1....
Spot the odd one out.....
Some wonderful care in the last 24hrs, but what does disjointed communication and teamwork/ the roll the dice on the advice you get look like in a hospital? 1/
And your readings now (after medication) have been fine? There's no real reason for you to be here unless it is higher. And it is better to go to the hospital triage where the rest of your care is, far better for follow on care...4/
Hospital 2 HCP 2) what were the measurements they recommended you to come here for? Oh we normally don't worry until it's much higher! (Funny that, in 2020 you definitely did and your colleagues think it warrants attention)? 3/
Hospital 2 HCP 1) whilst it isn't too severe yet, it definitely isn't ok without treatment, we'd like to keep you in for 24hrs of monitoring to make sure we titrate the medication correctly. 2/
@babylossmummy@DadOfAubrey@lexiebarrx Oh and 4yrs later a coroner's report states recommendations were not met at the time (or subsequently). So the system clearly missing something.
@babylossmummy@DadOfAubrey@lexiebarrx I attended 1 MNVP meeting, it focused on reassurance that CQC inadequate rating, wasn't 'another Kirkup'. We had just heard same failings occurred in our care 5yrs post Kirkup(when no risk of litigation). I could not contribute to that meeting...
@KenZeroHarm@BirthTrauma@NHSGIRFT@HysteroscopyA@clarky_on My post was related to the recommendation for improved maternity care outcome data with that report, as that is what the BTA were suggesting....sorry for any confusion, I've pasted the exact line above
@LittlePersonDoc@FeedingAlliance@catherineroyuk My second was a planned section with indication for one and it was night and day in experience! But from the above I have exactly the same perspective on anyone's ability to 'control' a spontaneous labour outcome....
@LittlePersonDoc@FeedingAlliance@catherineroyuk This was the advice to ground me back in reality of it not being for me...2 previous section, first doubly life saving, additional abdominal surgery & current picture supporting another section. Shall I go back in time & do something to maximise my chances of 'normal' birth?
@KenZeroHarm@BirthTrauma@NHSGIRFT My expertise in maternity is personal/terrifying, I cited the report above to demonstrate that what the BTA suggest aligns with other thinking known in the area for years and nothing more
@KenZeroHarm@BirthTrauma@NHSGIRFT In professional life I have seen GIRFT contributing to patient benefit/safety. But that is from the perspective of seeing the consequences of the alternatives and not in maternity.
