How long until the SoR lobby convinces state boards of ed to no longer fund colleges of ed and teacher “training” goes completely corporate and for profit? 10 years?
@howie_hua I love hearing your perspective. It’s so interesting and really connects to the readings, good job! I agree with you, I also like numbers. Great post!
@readteach77 @rhardin29556971 @NarelleLyn We all def read differently, I read big chunks at a time. My grad school prof one time was like “I’ve heard about people like you!” 😂 I think the inst implications are that we have to teach kids to use multiple strategies for reading b/c we don’t know which will work!
@readteach77 @rhardin29556971 @NarelleLyn Here Jen, I couldn't figure out how to share it on Twitter so I made a Google doc to follow my research train... hope it helps add some nuance, there is not one way to read. https://t.co/wZhOdkgnk3
@drmollyness I would hope so but people seem not to interpret it that way. Lately, people on here are talking like it's the one and only study on reading... I will start calling it One Faction of the Body of Research on Reading (just teasing).
I don’t understand the usage of the term “THE science of reading” as if there is ONE. We would never say “oh I read THE science of astrophysics” and assume that meant there’s just one set of research on astrophysics and it’s the only one that counts. 🤦🏻♀️
Tuesdays and Thursdays are for learning along with our @UNCWWatsonEd partners! Dr. Szech's reading foundations class works with K-6 students every week. We're grateful for the relationships between UNCW and DCVPA students and faculty. #LearnThriveSoar#LearnThriveROAR
“But a rail worker strike would disrupt the entire countries supply chain!!”
Yeah dog that’s the point it’s almost like the actual workers hold all the power. Maybe they should get what they want and deserve. Hope that helps.
