An insightful presentation from my @AWE_plc colleagues to wrap up the @WES1919 Women's Engineering Society conference; giving a flavour of our culture, behaviours, E,D&I activities. We're keen to work with others on our E,D&I journey #wes2023#womeninengineering#engineering
Fantastic session at Women's Engineering Society @WES1919 conference today about the barriers women are often confronted with in their careers. Great to see @AWE_plc get an unsolicited 'shout out' for our women's toilet/breastfeeding facilities. #wes2023#womeninengineering
Finding the right career path can be a tricky process. Arjan appreciated the easy process of becoming an AWE #apprentice and the hands-on experience it’s given him. Don't miss out on the opportunity to join our award-winning scheme. #NAW23 https://t.co/2leC0BiHz3
Mandy Savage, Executive Director for Engineering at @AWE_plc , tells us in great detail about her career, managing the engineering function and preparing for the future. Click on the link below to find out more:

I'm humbled by Engineer John's donation to @utcreading of his father's machine tool bits. An Aladdin's Cave of Imperial-sized bits & tools. Great for our EAL & BTEC engineers as show-&-tells & to help compare the Metric & Imperial systems #engineering#utcs#utcolleges#BTEC
@UTCReading BTEC engineering students enjoyed a day's networking with professional engineers at the national Engineering Design Show. This is what University Technical Colleges (UTCs) are all about! We're staying 'industry sharp' #BTEC#engineering#utc#utcolleges#stemeducation
We're hiring (in Berkshire, UK) for a new Director of Design, Engineering & Technology - a fantastic leadership position whether you come from industry or secondary D&T/Engineering education. See TES jobs- https://t.co/b3BsMFQ8lB #engineering#utcs#utcolleges#teaching
Completed the #HarvardX Leaders of Learning course, meshing the late Prof. Elmore's Modes of Learning framework with my experience of state & independent sector teaching in UK. Insightful interaction with global colleagues exploring the future of effective learning #STEMeducation
So proud of @UTCReading BTEC engineering students today; fantastic outcomes whether the student got PPP or D*D*D* - apprenticeships, armed services, universities inc. Russell Group. Congratulations! Now go & be amazing! #BTEC#btech#engineering#utc#utcolleges#stemeducation
2/2 Our ancient overhead projector helped save the day & it was great to see the Centre Manager, Eric, create a lesson on-the-fly using our emergency overhead transparencies & 100s of dinosaur masks! Great fun & 100% student engagement #STEMEducation#dinosaurs#UTCs#UTColleges
1/2 Our 2nd Rwanda lesson today, at Philly's Place. Totally bonkers - 250 children were waiting for us. The planned engineering towers lesson was dropped (no floor space) in favour of everyone's favourite - dinosaurs😁 #STEMEducation#dinosaurs#UTCs#UTColleges
Our 1st Rwanda engineering lesson today, at Cyugaro-Ntarama primary school. 47 engaged students, aged 8 to 12 displaying fantastic problem solving skills, easily overcoming the language barrier. Great fun & attracted onlookers! #STEMEducation#Engineering#UTCs#UTColleges
Lighter mood today: 1st recce of Reaching Rwanda's temporary Philly's Place (we'll teach here twice on this trip) & tour of the under-construction permanent Philly's Place. Then: final lesson planning. Thanks @UTCReading for the donated laptop😀 #STEMeducation#UTCs#UTColleges
1st day of Rwanda teaching visit with Reaching-Rwanda charity. Contextualisation visits: Kigali Genocide Memorial with mass grave for 250,000 genocide victims; the Ntarama Church with mass grave for the 5000 Tutsi slaughtered there on 15th Aug 1994. Gut-wrenchingly sad & shocking
