@RepSeitz156 Born alive protections concerns me as a physician. Any baby already has equal rights of another child under law. My NICU collegues understand that not all conditions are compatible with life, and intervening in the little time parents have to hold their dying child is wrong.
@RepSeitz156 Rep Seitz, Can you explain how fetal personhood bills affect IVF? My understanding (ie. Georgia) is that these bills would make our state unable to provide IVF. If a person chose to not get a med or vaccine, and a preventable infection caused a miscarriage, is it manslaughter?
@AlexBHeeb @TaneyCoMoDems @MissouriGOP The initiative petition process allows citizens the right to put a proposal on the ballot. What you are proposing is not an option, but could be if you had enough signatures. Currently, the options are YES and NO on 3, and you and all Missouri citizens can cast a ballot.
@AlexBHeeb @TaneyCoMoDems Actually, my point is the current MO law doesn't have exceptions for the 4% who find themselves in these devastating situations, and the language surrounding these meme's not only shames the 1 in 25, but also suggests rape and incest victims have a role in their circumstance.
Things that were made even more clear to me tonight:
Joe Biden is, above all, a good human.
Pete Buttegieg may not be human at all. How does he always know the right things to say?!
@piper4missouri As a women in a professional role (physician), I would err on calling her VP Harris. My male counterparts almost never hear their first name, I, on the otherhand, am addressesed regulalry by my first name, primarily by men whom are not doing out of friendship. Project strength!
If you don't understand EMTALA, that's okay. But if you are an ER Physician or OB Provider and you have to look at the amount of blood on the floor, sheets, trash can and toilets to determine if a woman is close enough to death to intervene, you know what's at stake. #EMTALA
