Today @AsmVinceFong and I sent a letter to Democrat leaders regarding record high gas prices in CA. We are urging them to reconsider their denial of GOP attempts to suspend the state’s gas tax, which is now adding 54 cents to every gallon of gas. 1/

The first thing the Governor wants to do with the new legislature in December is increase the cost of gas. If any special legislative session is called, it should be to suspend the state’s gas tax, not increase taxes!

Re Winter Blend: The Governor just doesn’t get it. Every other state is seeing relief from high gas prices. The problem in CA is policy. We need major action, starting w/ suspending the taxes & fees that make our gas so much more expensive, adding approx $1.80 to a gallon!

Californians will not be fooled by Gov. Newsom’s poor energy policies. His policies have halted affordable energy production, increased energy costs, & made CA more dependent on foreign oil.

If Newsom is concerned about rising gas/energy costs, it’s time to look in the mirror.
