Black Coffee Foundation Has Begun Handing Over Newly Built Houses For Flood Victims Families.
International renowned producer and Dj BlackCoffee made a promise to build houses for the flood victims families last year.
Real name Nkosinathi Maphumulo, Black Coffee lived up to his promises and delivered the first phase of the houses.
On Wednesday, the foundation handed over newly rebuilt homes in Mthatha.
After the devastating floods that left many families displaced, this moment marks a step toward restoring safety, dignity and hope.
More homes are still to come.
In partnership with Tenco Foundation and Pro Roof.
The two businessmen, Robert Gumede and Peter Moyanga protected over 20,000 jobs. They bought a struggling sugar company Tongaat Hulett for R4 billion to stop liquidation.
White households in South Africa have an average annual income of about R676k, while Black African households average around R144k. This disparity is largely the result of historic racial discrimination that ensured Black South Africans were systematically excluded from equal opportunities, despite their education and work. The so-called racial policies that exist today are attempts to address and correct these deep inequalities.
My mother is 72. She entered a "Mrs Golden Oldies Beauty Pageant" 🤷♂️🙈 at her church. She became 1st Princess. She's soo happy 🙃😳😂😂. She was interviewed on @ThobelaFMYaka this morning. I was instructed to let my friends know. So here we go. 🙆♂️
Sixteen years ago, I was having lunch in Bedfordview with two friends.
In the middle of that meal, I asked a simple question:
“Why do we have to drive this far just to enjoy a proper meal?”
At the time, I owned a small two-bedroom house in Daveyton.
And in that moment, something shifted.
Instead of complaining about the distance…
I decided to change the location of opportunity.
I went back home.
Demolished the two-bedroom house.
And built what would become Brima Café — an elegant restaurant in the heart of Daveyton.
Not because it was easy.
But because our community deserved quality.
Our people deserved experience.
And our township deserved excellence.
Brima Café was never just a restaurant.
It was a statement.
A statement that you don’t have to leave your community to enjoy beauty.
You can build it where you are.
From a question over lunch…
to a landmark in Daveyton.
