OK, I'm out of here. Follow me on Bluesky, where I can be found under the name of philedwards (or use a tool such as Sky Follower Bridge to bulk-follow your Twitter contacts). See you on the other side!
TFW you realise you've not only written two papers on Kelsen referring to "imputation" without qualification but - and this is the kicker - used it to denote *central* imputation, not peripheral ditto.
Oh, the embarrassment. At least I hadn't submitted them anywhere.
Haven't tweeted much using this ID since retiring, and frankly that's unlikely to change. But if you see this & you're in the market for a BSkyB invite, drop me a DM.
@bartleby_era In fact there’s a timeline quite close to ours where I did one of those. When I researched the company that would give me my first job in journalism, I found it was owned by Dave Duke. I wanted the job, so I deliberately didn’t check it wasn’t *that* D Duke. (Happily it wasn’t.)
@bartleby_era I honestly don’t think I could be an evil lecturer - I’d get bored. But I’ve also written advertorials and managed databases, so one of those for Evil Megacorp would do it.
@RoxyLegane Heh. Looking forward to spending the entire day indoors for precisely that reason. Might venture out around 6.00 if the result goes the right way, though.
So it's really not going to have any real-world effect, and it's only going to enter the broader discourse by way of the news. If you don't want it to get oto the news, there's a simple answer - don't make it a story by shouting about it.
Not my union any more*, but I find it very hard to get excited about UCU passing an anti-war resolution. "A campaign group called Stop the War condemns both sides in a war and calls for a peaceful resolution" - it's not "man bites dog", is it?
*I retired last year
And I don't think it's a bad thing if one or two people with a platform make the case against war, given how vocally the cases for different levels of war have bee made. (Although even this is unlikely to happen, the UCU GS has said she doesn't support the resolution.)

@OfficialUoM raked in so much last year it's been left with a £98m surplus

@IBrasso I'm doing the Graduate Diploma in Law - just finishing in fact.
The whole area of "legal causation" seems to be a massive fudge, particularly in criminal law.
Fascinated by the Woollin direction's definition of (obligue) intention by reference to an actual state of affairs.
What if death or serious injury *wasn't* a virtually certain consequence of the defendant's actions, eh? What then?
A sorry saga. Two days on from #Coronation and police express regret over the arrest of six anti monarchy protestors, and concede no evidence was found that they planned to disrupt proceedings.
