I submitted an FOI request to the GMC asking them about the tax they pay.

Turns out, the GMC do not pay tax. They class doctors' fees as charity.

They take £500/yr from doctors, pay zero tax on it, and use it to give their staff £250k salaries and private healthcare.

In the last year, 12% of doctors took leave due to stress-related illness. This leads to doctors reducing their hours to look after their well-being (52% plan to do this in the next year). Fewer doctors = increasing pressure. The cycle continues. #JuniorDoctorsStrike #NHSCrisis
