@cgamuguna Jackals look thinner, with a longer snout and ears. Coyotes are both larger and have thicker coats. In many parts of the US, coyotes will also interbreed with dogs and this can further change their appearance.
@LetsBePolitics@DanFriedman81 I'm a bit torn, honestly. On the one hand I think a politician should be judged on their politics and not turned into a soap opera - but then again asking for basic decent behavior out of our leaders doesn't seem like all that big of an ask.
@PromptLLM@CryptoMikli To be fair, those traders do essentially zero work - the entire stock market is just a fractally complex casino for people who think they're too smart to fall for it.
@thepancakington@UFObuds Some things need gatekeeping. If Instagram has taught us anything, it's that there's an infinite horde of fashionistas who will wear your beloved hobby like a skinsuit for a few internet points.
Deep engagement with a hobby is a legitimate requirement to keep them at bay.
@WatcherontheWeb Your entire business idea involves working above board, complying with authorities - these guys never intended to. They'll pack up and dodge the moment anyone shows up, then move to another location.
Stop giving the government authority over basic human things like making food.
@BULLETSYMPHONY I mean, you're not wrong - but only if you still use the mainstream platforms. There's a lot out there that's still independent, you just can't find it piped out in a convenient feed.
Honestly, I can't wait to see AI make independent media as convenient as the legacy platforms.
@MichaelFKane@FelixTa58362827 I agree that Book had some awkward moments, but he also was a standout example to me of a religious character that was neither a preachy killjoy nor a Ned Flanders dingdong.
The bar was low, but so many religious characters completely fail that it's worth pointing out a win.
@SandyofCthulhu@trequor_ That's one of the core points I try to point out to my players: we are NOT playing in Tolkien's universe because if we were, race balance wouldn't exist.
@BradRTorgersen@SandyofCthulhu I have a serial "rehabilitator" in my crew and it's been fun challenging her on certain subjects. For example she loves Kobolds and Goblins but is just fine with killing Gnolls and Lizardfolk.
I think part of it is the Baby Instinct.
@learning_yohei The Midwest is often overlooked but it can be charming! We don't have many large cities but all the small towns are friendly and welcoming. Go see Devil's Lake in Wisconsin and you won't regret it!
@SandyofCthulhu I totally agree with this, and it's why I strongly prefer the word "Obstacle" instead of "Trap" when talking about dungeon design.
It feels rather nu-DnD to talk about telegraphing hints and making things clear, but especially in a collaborative storytelling medium this matters.
@BradRTorgersen The military general must be a bloody minded and ruthless antagonist who only makes situations worse before crushing it with overwhelming military force.
@KEMODRG Wonderful! It definitely gives the sense of elegance and nobility. I'm curious - humans paint their nails, which are the only hard parts we have on our bodies. Would she paint her horns or scales? Would that be considered elegant, or common?
@mkadnk@SandyofCthulhu There is a strong difference between "for China" and "for westerners" when it comes to quality.
They will happily sell us dirt scraped up into bearing spiders if they think there's even a chance we'll buy it
