I am told more and more institutions are beginning to do this in the country. Brought to my notice by a concerned Jadavpur University faculty member and some good students who are looking for faculty positions in India.

To disregard merit and shortlist candidates just based on the source of institutional funding is trivializing the entire faculty recruitment process. Hope @ugc_india @mamidala90 look into this. @EduMinOfIndia
